About

My name is Beaux, my pronouns are they/them/theirs, and I am from Passau, Germany. I spent my childhood between Germany, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, and moved to the United States in 2016 to pursue a collaborative degree program between the Culinary Institute of America and Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. These degrees not only taught me hard skills like business analytics and marketing, but also taught me how to communicate effectively, how to create spaces that feel inclusive, and how to leverage my unique skillset and background in teamwork.

I am deeply passionate about equity and work best when my work is mission-driven. As a queer and nonbinary person, fostering diverse, inclusive spaces where people can show up as their whole selves is important to me. I love food, and am especially excited about the intersections of good food, equity, and sustainability. Across continents, cities, and schools, food has remained a way for me to connect with people who are different from me, to share flavours that feel like home, and to learn more about the world around me. Everyone eats; the universality of food thus feels especially powerful and exciting to me, and it has been a joy to explore the ways in which food can be used for good in the past few years. Going forward, I am eager to continue leveraging the skills I developed in and outside of class to make a tangible, positive difference in our world.
